Qualifying Work Experience (SQE Route)

For candidates who have completed (or are undertaking) the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), we offer opportunities to gain Qualifying Work Experience (QWE).

QWE provides practical legal experience in line with the requirements of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). At Ward Gethin Archer, QWE candidates can expect:

  • Meaningful involvement in client matters
  • Supervision by qualified solicitors
  • Opportunities to develop core solicitor competencies
  • Ongoing feedback and mentoring

QWE can be completed over a minimum of two years (or equivalent), and may be gained in one continuous period with us within the department they intend to qualify in or across different legal settings, subject to SRA requirements.

Once a candidate has completed their Qualifying Work Experience and can satisfy the SRA’s character and suitability requirements they will need to apply to the SRA to become a solicitor and be admitted to the Roll.
